Season 21 (Season 12 in EGS), subtitled Rust Disorder is preceded by Season 20. Jay is the mascot and focus ninja, William Hardrock serves as the main antagonist, while The Rustic Nindroids serve as the villainous faction of this season.
This takes place on Earth-101, a world where the darkness, Lord Garmadon speaks about in the finale of Hunted is not the Oni, it is past villains from the first 2 seasons of Ninjago Returning.
This season is based on Season 12 of LEGO Ninjago, Prime Empire but the story is different.

Description[]
Months after the Dimension Hopper crisis, the ninja find a board game called Rust Disorder, an unpopular board game that some Ninjago Citizens were trapped in decades ago. The Board Game has a mysterious backstory that the ninja don't know of.
